Project Life 2014: Week 12

Spring! St. Patrick's Day! Family! Those seem to be the major themes for this week. I was a bit stumped on what product to use - and when that happens, I turn to Just Jaimee.  Her Storyteller collections are ginormous and I can always find plenty of stuff to use that already matches. For this week's spread I used the March Storyteller collection. I especially love the "currently" card, which helped me record some fun details I might not have otherwise added.

More March Layouts

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted any layouts. Here's what I've been creating.

Last month, my husband bought our oldest a rocket for his birthday. The first time we went out it didn't work because the battery we put in it was dead :( We went out a few days later and that thing was GONE. Come to find out my husband bought the most powerful engine for it!  We ended up buying a new rocket (the launch pad was just fine) and some smaller engines and we love to go to the big field at the park to shoot it off. It's been a really fun thing for Dad and his boys to do together. We usually have a few neighborhood kids tagging along too :)

I wanted to record that fact that I've been cooking more consistently (pat on the back) and trying new recipes. This kit was perfect for it - I still hate cleaning up my mess though.

Spring is here! This is what spring often looks like around here. This photo was taken just last week, and thankfully the snow is long gone.

This was also a recent series of photos - I loved the little story I captured here and was excited to get it scrapbooked.  Silly boy.

You  might have noticed I love "roundup" pages - a mix of photos with the same theme (in this case my baby boy) over an extended period of time. These were photos I instagrammed of my youngest during 2013. I fell in love with this template and this was a great way to use it.

Project Life 2014: Week 11

One thing I've enjoyed doing for my weekly spreads is to choose a kit from my stash that I like, but haven't found a use for yet. This collection was one of the free collab kits from Sweet Shoppe Designs, a facebook hop I think. I reminded me of spring which was perfect for this past week.  Here's a look at my week 11:

Project Life 2014: Week 10

I had this finished up on Monday, but for some reason didn't get around to posting it all week.  Then when I sat down this morning to do it I decided to change a few things. LOL So here's my revised and final version of week 10:

created with Dance Your Dance kit by Just Jaimee; Eternal Sunshine papers and journal cards by Paislee Press; ampersand from You&Me elements by Kaye Winiecki; Lovely elements and journal cards by Splendid Fiins; number strip from That's Life by Krystal Hartley; Chipboard Alphabet Soup by Kim Jensen; selfie wordart freebie from Digital Design Essentials; 'Sup by CD Muckosky; butterfly stamp by Rachel Young from Jump for Joy collab kit; "watch this video" wordart freebie by Britt-ish Designs;

Although I'm enjoying this project far more than I did in 2012, it's beginning to feel a bit "forced".  I'm not exactly sure why. I think I have trouble balancing the photos/stories with the use of product.  I'm still trying to figure out how to achieve a look I'm really happy with - something that will probably only come as I keep at it. So I will press on! :)

Project Life 2014: Week 9

Hi friends, Happy March! We're usually stuck in the middle of winter still, but this past week has felt positively spring like. I'm certain we'll have another snow storm or two before we're officially done with winter, but for now I'm enjoying the rain & warmer temps! This week's spread is brought to you by the GORGEOUS free-with-purchase kit available at Pixels & Company this month.

http://pixelsandcompany.com/shop/Kate-and-Co.html

Split into two parts, Kate & Co will be available for free with a $10 purchase- part 1 for the first half of the month, part 2 for the second half.  Or you can just purchase the whole thing now.  I had so much fun playing with it for this weeks' PL spread! Take a look:
