30 Days of Gratitude

Just popping in to tell you about SuzyQ's 30 Days of Gratitude event. She's got all the information on her blog (with GREAT prizes for participating!) and will be posting daily prompts on twitter. She's also got some great ideas for this project in this post. Even though this project technically started a couple of days ago, I am behind (like most things in my life right now!) so I've decided to start November 1st and finish on the 30th, making it a month of gratitude.

I'll be using this blog to post my daily blessings, whether it's pictures or photos or both. I love this idea and I am so excited to embark on a month of counting my blessings and recording them. I hope you'll play along!

Digi Files Challenge

It's been a while since I participated in any online challenges. There's a fun one going on over at The Daily Digi, so I decided to give it a try. It was tough because they gave you a list of items you had to use, but I really like how it turned out.

{everything from the Digi Files #22: green paper from "Touch of Spice" by Jennifer Labre; frame from "A Perfect Day" by Designs by Anita; ribbon from "Skip With Me" by Misty Cato; pattern paper from "Follow Me" by Allison Pennigton; white paper from "Woodstock" by Lynne Marie; to do list from "Scrapping 9 to 5" by Kate Hadfield; "Pea Hannah Chocolate" and "Adobe Caslon Pro" fonts}

Halloween Hybrid

I wanted to add to my Halloween decor this year, so I came up with a couple of new items using my digital scrapbooking stash. First off was this super easy "spooky scene":

{created with "In the Graveyard" kit by SuzyQ Scraps & DeCrow Designs; "Firefly Castle" font}

On the left is how it looked before printing, and the final product is on the right. I just used a fun Halloween kit - "In the Graveyard" by SuzyQ Scraps & DeCrow Designs - to create a haunted graveyard scene. I had an extra 8x10 frame so I made it on an 8x10 canvas, printed at Costco, and popped it in the frame.

I also made this fun banner:

{orange dot paper "Happy Spring Paper Pack" by Crystal Wilkerson; black paper from "Happy Halloween" freebie by Michelle Coleman; stripe paper from "Funky Fall" kit by Amanda Heimann & Kelley Mickus; green paper from "12 Days of Christmas" freebie by Julia Makotinsky; newsprint paper from "Lovey Dovey" freebie by Faith True; black glitter paper from "Tangerine Twist" kit by Flergs; "Gungsuh" font}

I was inspired by this banner and this banner I saw at The Crafting Chicks. So cute! I made the shapes in Photoshop, then selected pattern papers with Halloween colors to clip to the shapes. I used a font for the letters and just clipped a black glitter paper to them to give them a little more dimension. After printing & cutting, I simply stapled them to a ribbon and tied it to my leaf garland.

I love it, it adds a lot to the mantle display! Happy Halloween!

Soccer Star + Freebie

*sigh*.... I just got on here to make this new post, when I saw my last post about the sale at Persnickety Prints and realized I totally forgot about it, so I missed it! Oh well, I hope someone saw it and was able to benefit from it. Anyway, onto the good stuff.

For my latest layout, I used the new "Blustery Fall" kit by SuzyQ Scraps. Although it's a fall themed kit, I didn't really have any fall pictures to scrapbook so I used it to make a page about my son playing soccer. I love finding an "unconventional" use for a kit. :)

The good news is you can pick up the add-on to this kit for free! Here's what you'll get:

You can find half at The Daily Scrapper, and the other half at SuzyQ Scraps new & improved site. Enjoy!

Time to Print! + The Digi Game

Just a couple of things to share going on around digi-land:

Persnickety Prints is having a sale! And it's only going for the next two days. I spent a good chunk of my afternoon uploading my most recent pages to their site so I'd be all ready to order tomorrow. :) Just click the picture to get your prints!

Also, The Daily Digi announced today a new way to get The Digi Files and The Digi Playbook, plus free goodies as well, by subscribing! I should mention that I have never purchased The Digi Files (although I have thought about it many times) but I am a big fan of the Digi Playbooks, they are full of useful tips and tricks. You can find out more at their site.

Happy Scrapping!
