Halloween Project

I made a little Halloween craft yesterday. I spotted these two frames that I picked up on sale a Target a while ago in my room, still empty, and decided they would be great for Halloween. So I opened up two 4x6 inch canvases in Photoshop and created this. This was so super easy - I just wish I'd thought of it sooner so we could have enjoyed it for more than two days! Ah, well, there's always next year...

Christmas on the Delaware

I was thinking about this the other day - on Christmas day in 2005 we were in Philadelphia, just our little family, and we went to see a reenactment of Washington crossing the Delaware river. And I realized I'd never scrapbooked it, so I put it on my "list" (it's a mental list) to do sometime. I decided to do it for the scraplift challenge at All Things Visual. Check it out - the winner gets a $5 gift certificate and your odds are good since no one else has done it yet!

Parade

Zach thought the 4th of July parade we went to was so cool. A few days later, he started playing "parade" with his toys and it's one of his favorite things to do. I've been meaning to scrapbook this for a while and I finally got to it!

It's Been Awhile

... since I just did a single layout. I've been busy with so many projects, it was fun to get back to the usual.

Featured

I was pretty happy when I saw my layout at the top of Ms. Ali Edwards' blog post the other day... she's like a scrapbooking legend! I read her blog religiously ('cause she's so cool) and I participated in her "Week In The Life" challenge. Basically you document everything, everyday, for a week and compile it into an album. I whipped up my layout for Monday and emailed it to her - and the next thing you know there it is! I hadn't shared the layout here yet because I was waiting until I had the entire album finished, but of course that hasn't happened yet. But it will! In the meantime, you can see the post here, and here's the layout:

And if you're curious to see Ali's "Week In The Life" album, look here. I really love her clean, effortless style.

Taggity Tag

I was tagged by two of my scrapbooking friends, Dottie and Kelly. I met both of them on the DSM forum and even though I've never met most of the ladies there, we chat all the time and I really do consider them friends. Isn't the internet great? Anyway, they both tagged me with the same thing, so I'm killing two birds with one stone:

1. Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog - some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here goes:

1. My bedsheets, blanket, and comforter must be exactly straight or I can't sleep.
2. My toenails are always painted, but never my fingernails.
3. I don't have any piercings, not even my ears, but I think I'll do them someday. I've just never gotten around to it.
4. I want to move to Brazil for a year or so someday, preferably while my kids are still living at home. My husband lived there for a couple of years before we met, so he'd love to go back too. I think it would be a great experience because it's really important to me that my kids have a global perspective.
5. I'm addicted to chapstick. I like Burt's Bees the best.
6. Remember Punky Brewster? I loved that show when I was really little, like 4 or 5. I'd love to see it again now to see it from an adult point of view.
7. I hate making phone calls, and I always put it off... to the point where I drop the ball on things I need to be responsible for.

I doubt there are even seven people who read my blog... but if you are reading this, TAG! You're it (if you want).

Also... there's still a couple more days to enter the giveaway! Just scroll down a few posts to leave your comment!

It's A Giveaway!

Happy Monday - let's have a giveaway! I'm giving away a Family Ties CD from Digital Scrapbook Memories.

This CD includes four family themed kits (although most of the items could be used for almost any scrapbook page) AND 10 premade layouts, ready for you to just add your own photos! This whole collection is huge: 72 pattern papers, 6 alpha sets, and hundreds of journaling tabs, buttons, flowers, photo corners, frames, swirls, ribbons, etc. These graphics can be used with an image-editing program that supports PNG files such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements (my program of choice!), Memory Mixer, Microsoft Digital Image Pro, JASC Paint Shop, Corel or ArcSoft. Works on both Windows and MAC computers. Here's a preview of the kits:

Baby

Teen

Wedding

Heritage

To enter, leave a comment - any comment - on this post BEFORE Monday, October 13th. Only one entry per person. I'll pick one random winner and announce it here on October 13th. I'll ship anywhere in the United States.

Also, here are a few pages I've made using this awesome CD:

Good luck everyone!
