Dollar Days

Have you seen the amazing deals going on at Pixels and Company for Dollar Days? This will be over in just a couple of days - it ends tomorrow! - so I thought I'd just share some of my faves.  Sadly, I haven't had much time to scrap with this stuff, but I'm definitely grabbing things to put in my stash for later. These deals are too good to pass up!

First up is this pack of elements and papers by Stolen Moments - a whole kit for just $2!

Project Life 2014: Week 4

This week's spread is brought to you by the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad.  One of the challenges last week was to capture a week in your life on a layout, which I saved for the weekend so I could use my Project Life spread to fulfill it. Two birds, one stone. Done.  So of course that means most of what I used here is product from The Lilypad.

Project Life 2014: Week 3

Week 3 and I'm still loving it! This turned out to be a fun, colorful spread. I didn't have a ton of time to make decisions about product (I just wanted it done late Sunday night), so I stuck with the same pack of journal cards (minus the month card) and added some text on a few photos and a flair button.  {Click image for a larger view}

Layouts | Week of January 12 - 18

The highlight of my week was being able to see my local digi scrapping friends at Digi Night Out.  If you're local, please come! We have lots of fun not only scrapping, but lots of chatting and even painting our nails :) It's always a great time.  The schedule and designer lineup for the rest of the year has been announced, and annual passes are available as well.

I'm still in and plugging away at the Month of Challenges. This has been such an awesome way to get a lot of memories scrapped, and I've been surprised at how much inspiration I've found through the various challenges.  I don't love each and every page I've made, but overall I'm enjoying the process and I'm so pleased to be getting so much scrapping done.

Project Life 2014: Weeks 1 & 2

After taking a year off, I can honestly say I'm THRILLED to be doing Project Life again in 2014.  I should specify, I'm not using the Project Life brand products but I am taking the concept of pocket-style pages and documenting life a week at a time. After 2012, I was totally burned out and somewhat dissatisfied with the project. I spent 2013 just watching a lot of other Project Life scrappers online - taking inspiration from their spreads, and reading/listening to/participating in various discussions about processes and products.  It really helped me to pinpoint what I love about it, and what I struggled with in 2012.  I feel like taking that step back was just what I needed and now I'm ready to tackle it in 2014!

My approach:  KEEP IT SIMPLE. The same template each week. Mostly journal cards, a few brushes, maybe a couple of other embellishments. Each spread will have a simple patterned card in the top left pocket with the week number.  I jot down things going on during the week in a notebook on my desk, and Sunday afternoons/evenings are reserved for uploading photos and putting the weekly spread together. I'm also thinking of using the same journaling font each week.  Two weeks in, and I'm really feeling good about this! (But we'll see how I'm feeling in two months... ;))

Week 1:  I must say I'm NOT super happy with how this turned out, BUT done is better than perfect. (Click to view larger)

Layouts | Week of January 5-11

Lots and lots of scrapping going on here! Still trying to keep up with the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad - at the moment I'm just one day behind.  Here are my layouts for the week:

Day 6: Free-Style Clustered
I really liked how this one looked without the journaling, and I debated whether or not to include it, but in the end I decided I want my pages to tell more stories so I put it on there.

created with Capturing Fall collab kit by The Lilypad designers;
frame from By His Grace by Laurie-Ann;
Courier New font

Day 7: Word Art
These photos were difficult to work with, but I really like how this turned out.

created with
template by Amy Martin from Vintage Valentine collab;
jump word art from Paint Stroke Chatter: Warm Weather Wonders by CD Muckosky;
Jump for Joy collab kit by The Lilypad designers;
confetti by Valorie Wibbens from Hoppy Birthday collab kit;
Just Realize font

Day 8: Photo Technique - Watercolor
I could not figure out the watercolor tutorial for this page, so I just figured out my own thing. I love the big painty words on this.

created with Painted Words by Just Jaimee;
Storyteller December 2013 kit by Just Jaimee;
Journal Card Stitched Overlays by Just Jaimee
Day 9: Do-Over
As a general rule, I don't re-do layouts. All of my really old/ugly pages and photos aren't even on this computer anyway, so the ones I might want to do over aren't accessible.  I ended up re-doing a page I did earlier this year - I liked the page, but I didn't really like the journaling so I just re-did the whole thing.

created with
Vintage Angles v3 templates by Amy Martin;
Just Because kit by Laurie-Ann;
Josefin font
Day 10: Word of the Year
I'm not doing One Little Word this year, so this was kind of annoying, but it was still fun to play with these products and get some thoughts on "paper".

created with
A Bit Worn Alpha by Valoire Wibbens;
Sprinkles v.14 by Valorie Wibbens;
Twirl papers by Allison Pennington;
Messy Edges by Amy Wolff;
background paper by One Little Bird designs from Together collab kit by The Lilypad designers;
Claire Hand and Sedgewick fonts
Day 11: Simple Template
I think this is my favorite so far! I really love the colors on this one, they just make me happy.

created with free MOC template by Valoire Wibbens;
Annabelle papers by Lynn-Marie;
Sequioa papers by Sara Gleason;
petals by Sara Gleason;
I Am Not Perfect elements by Pink Reptile Designs;
Paint Stroke alpha by CD Muckosky;
Ordinarily Special by Kaye Winiecki;
threex4 frames v2 by Amy Martin;
The Reed font by Heather Joyce

I also created a fun hybrid project this week, using dollar days products at Pixels & Company:

Best Year Ever elements and Best Year Ever papers by Audacious Designs;
Mensch and Pea Kar Kar fonts
Crossing fingers I can keep up all month long! Thanks for stopping by.

Playing Catch Up!

Oh dear. I'm afraid I'm just not very good at this regular blogging thing! Perhaps once a month is more realistic than once a week... but I'm sure if I made that goal I'd skip posting for a few months in a row, lol! Ah well, I'm here now. And I've got stuff to show off!

First off, I'm excited to be creating for Just Jaimee!  I was just accepted to the creative team so I don't have any pages to share yet, but feel free to check out that link to see the awesomeness over there.

I finished off the year with and ALMOST completed December Daily album.  I've got everything up until Christmas day done - I just need to get those last few memories documented.  Why is the last little bit of a project always the hardest? (I'm slooooowly plugging away on my last day of the Disneyland album as well.) Here are some of my December album pages.  I didn't keep track of full credits, but most of the stuff I used is from the Christmas 2013 Idea Notebook by Gina Cabrera and Document Your December products from The Lilypad.  The template I used is Pockets No. 6 by Valorie Wibbens.

And here's my cover page:

created with Holiday Hoopla 2013: Merry & Bright at My Scrapbook Art;
gold label from Free Love kit by Gennifer Bursett;
silver 25 from Peppermint Winter kit by Mye de Leon;
Pockets No. 6 by Valoire Wibbens

I also made a few more stand alone layouts in December:

created with Cold Winter's Night by Veronica Spriggs, Rucola Designs, and Paula Kesselring

created with Our Life kit by Anita Designs;
In Stitches: Neutral Basics by Robin Meierotto;
1942 Report font

created with Get Your Bearing v.1; Stampin Arrows; Wood Veneer Travel; Around the World papers; The Great States journal cards all by Brandi Sutherlin designs

And now we're to JANUARY - and that means DOLLAR DAYS!  Going on all month at Pixels & Company - new stuff everyday for $1 each, and everything in the Dollar Days sale will stay $1 all month long!  TONS and tons of great deals.  I made this layout using $1 number cards by Stolen Moments, as well as the cute Tell Me About It kit.  It was perfect for this "10 Things" page about my son.

created with Daily Number Cards by Stolen Moments;
Tell Me About It kit by Stolen Moments and Erica Zane;
template by Simply Tiffany from Piccadilly collab;
Constantia and 1942 Report fonts

And finally,  I dove head first into the Month of Challenges going on over at The Lilypad. CRAZY! Not sure I can keep up, but so far I'm 5/5 and I'm going to try for all 31.
